    A Coordinated Plan

What a Smile Makeover Can Address

A smile makeover brings individual treatments into one plan. The starting point is what bothers you about your smile and what your teeth need to stay healthy and functional.

    • Discolored or stained teeth
    • Chipped, worn, or uneven edges
    • Gaps between teeth
    • Teeth that look too short or small
    • Old crowns or fillings that no longer match
    • A smile that looks older than you feel

    Your Options

    What a Makeover Can Include

Each plan is built from a combination chosen for the patient. You may need one treatment or several coordinated treatments, rather than the same procedure on every tooth.

    Porcelain Veneers

Thin ceramic restorations designed to refine color, shape, and proportion.

    Crowns

Restorations for teeth that need more structural support.

    Teeth Whitening

Professional whitening to address staining and plan the overall shade.

    Cosmetic Bonding

Tooth-colored composite for selected chips, gaps, and edges.

    Digital Smile Design

A proposed design that considers your smile, face, and bite together.

    Implant Restorations

Custom restorations for existing dental implants when missing teeth are part of the plan.

    How Your Makeover Is Planned

    1. 01

      Consultation & Records

An exam, digital scan, and photos establish the starting point. You and Dr. Prentice discuss your goals and review the health of your teeth and bite.

    2. 02

      Digital Smile Design

Tooth shape, position, shade, and proportions are planned around your face and the rest of your smile.

    3. 03

      Preview in Your Mouth

A mock-up transfers the proposed design into your mouth so you can review how it looks before final restorations are made.

    4. 04

      Test-Drive with Provisionals

When indicated, provisional restorations allow the proposed appearance, speech, comfort, and bite to be evaluated and refined.

      Final Restorations

The approved design guides the final restorations, often milled in-house with same-day technology for select cases. Other plans use laboratory-made ceramics or staged visits.

    Designed for You

    Natural, Not Fake

Concerned about overly white, bulky, “fake” teeth? That concern belongs in the planning conversation.

Shade, shape, and proportion are designed to fit your face and the rest of your smile. The goal is a natural appearance that reflects your preferences, not a one-size-fits-all look. You see the proposed design before it is final.

    Function First

    Beauty That Has to Function

A cosmetic plan still needs to account for your bite, tooth structure, and grinding or clenching. Appearance and function are considered together.

If your teeth are also worn or repeatedly breaking, full-mouth reconstruction may be the more appropriate starting point. Dr. Prentice evaluates the underlying causes before choosing restorations.

    Smile Makeover Questions, Answered

How long does a smile makeover take?

It depends on the plan. Some cosmetic cases can be completed in very few visits with same-day technology; others are staged over weeks or months. You get a realistic timeline at your consultation.

Can I see my new smile before committing?

Yes. Digital smile design and an in-mouth preview let you review the proposed shade, shape, and proportions before final restorations. Dr. Prentice explains the preview process for your plan.

    Will my teeth look natural?

The goal is a smile that fits your face, not a uniform set of overly white teeth. Shade, shape, texture, and proportion are planned together, and you can discuss the design before it is final. Individual results vary.

Do I need veneers on every tooth?

No. The number of teeth treated is based on what shows when you smile, the condition of your teeth, and your goals. Your plan may combine veneers with whitening, bonding, or other restorations.

Is a smile makeover covered by insurance?

Cosmetic work usually is not covered, but parts of a plan that restore damaged teeth may be. Our team will review your benefits. Financing options including CareCredit and HSA/FSA payment options are available; eligibility and coverage depend on your plan.
